Lisa's 14 Tips
for solving organization problems
• Acknowledge where you tend to get stuck or are the most challenged and just accept it. It will make it easier to address it and problem solve around it.
• Recognize that the definition of insanity is — doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Where do you do this?
• Find a planner/calendar system that really works for you. Check it at least three times every day.
• Buy at least one good filing cabinet – plenty of space, easy to open and close, plenty of hanging and manila folders in colors you like.
• Have an errand basket by front door.
• Create a place for keys and wallet.
• Open and process your mail every day.
• Have one place where bills-to-be-paid go; know the due dates and do as much online as you can.
• Keep a cheat sheet somewhere accessible of what to do when you get overwhelmed.
• Always allow transition time.
• Hire an assistant and/or delegate what you can that’s the most challenging for you.
• Have one place for keepsakes and memorabilia and stuff you just want to save.
• Use photo boxes for pictures and other things.
• Maintain your sense of humor. |
